Advertising can be an art sometimes. Here are 5 example that I call ART but who am I to put the stamp of art on it?

1. Advertiser: playstation 2
Agency: BBDO Chile
This ad was produced by Playstation in 2007 as an advertisement for their new product for the Playstation 2: Rubik’s Cube. We all know how a rubik’s cube works, so thanks to digital editing, the face of the model resembles a Rubik’s Cube. Even though, the Rubik’s Cube is an older toy, it’s still fun for children right now, especially played on the PSP 2. This aspect of the rubik's cube being an older toy is given by the background: the room where they young male sits is pretty old and dark, which resembles old.

Advertiser: Discovery Channel
Agency: Mother London
This ad probably caught my attention because I’m a swimmer. Surprisingly, this is an ad for Discovery Channel. This sculpture is 35feet long and was in front of Potter’s Field at Tower Bridge for a promotional campaign featuring the celebrity tattoo artist Louis Malloy. I really like the idea of putting the swimmer in the grass, really creative. If I can critic on it just a little bit, I would have changed the angle of his elbow because his hand is too close to his head. I make this critic because I'm a swimmer and normally people put their hands in the water further away from the head...

Advertiser: Adidas
Agency: TBWA Germany
Surprise, Surprise,… Who would have thought that when Adidas asked for something unexpected that will welcome FIFA World Cup 2006 in Munich they would have got this result? TBWA accomplished this task really good. They build a 65meter statue above the highway where everybody had to pass to enter Munich.
4. Advertiser: Nike
Agency: Wieden + Kennedy
URL:
These are all real sounds during a certain basketball game. Nike is trying to sell something more than the shoes, like the lifestyle, values and beliefs that come with the shoes. When I close my eyes and just listen to the soundtrack, I’ve the feeling I’m at a different place where I feel safe.
5. Advertiser: Honda
Agency: Wieden + Kennedy
- Everything started of with a single Cog…wauw, that was the first word that crossed my mind. I was speechless for a second. I know that the commercial was 2min but Wieden+Kennedy used that time to tell a story to the consumers. Everything that was showed during the commercial are all parts of the Honda Accord.
With this commercial, Wieden+Kennedy tried to give Honda a more consumer-friendly image which definitely succeeded.
